The latest in digital court recording solutions to be installed in LA County Courts

For The Record (FTR) has signed a new contract to modernize 78 courtrooms in the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles. The contract was awarded following a competitive RFP process for Courtroom Electronic Recording Equipment.

The project, which commenced in January 2018, is aligned to the California Judicial Branch’s Tactical Plan for Technology (2017-2018) which aims to deliver more effective, efficient court processes.

For The Record CEO, Peter Wyatt said the company was privileged to support the largest state court system in the country to improve access to justice and provide a broader range and higher quality of services to the courts, litigants, lawyers, justice partners, and the public in LA.

“The project which promotes digital court recording will see FTR’s premier court recording software rolled-out across select courtrooms in LA Superior, offering HD audio and video capabilities and the latest in digital security technologies,” Mr Wyatt said.

“FTR Gold 6.0 will be installed to capture the court record.  FTR Gold 6.0 is compatible with FTR’s industry-leading blockchain verification technology for secure storage and distribution.”

The FTR managed solution will also include support, technical monitoring and the ability for court users to search for and listen to cases via the online Court.fm service.

The project aims to replace existing mobile recording equipment while equipping other courtrooms with a state-of-the-art enterprise, digital court recording solution that is centrally managed.

The Superior Court of California aims to modernize the management and administration of its courts, enhance the quality of justice and service to the public, and establish branch wide infrastructure for service excellence.
